GT Nexus the fashionable choice for Inditex

GT Nexus the fashionable choice for Inditex    Global clothing retailing giant Inditex SA has chosen the Oakland-based trade software developer GT Nexus to provide a platform for tracking and managing global ocean shipments, the company said Wednesday.
   GT Nexus, which uses an on-demand online model for its products, said it will serve as Inditex's 'global ocean freight information system, to provide detailed container status and event information, documentation management and shipment transaction capabilities to automate interactions with Inditex's global network of ocean carriers.'
   Inditex's brands include Zara, Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti and Bershka, with more than 4,200 stores in 73 countries. The company is famous for its 'fast fashion' supply chain model, with new product rapidly replenished on store shelves.
   'GT Nexus provides us with a very useful combination of universal connectivity to all carriers with well established data quality management processes, and real time visibility capabilities,' said Abel Lopez Cernadas, director import export transportation at Inditex.
   The initial phase of Inditex's agreement with GT Nexus will cover ocean freight, but ultimately will be expanded to air freight as well.
