Richmond port, city choose ADT for security camera system    Richmond, Calif.'s city government and port authority have chosen ADT Security Services to design and install two security camera systems.
   The $4 million, 116-camera digital system will be used by Richmond City Hall to reduce crime and vandalism, and by the port for homeland security initiatives.
   The camera system will beam live feeds wirelessly to Richmond Police headquarters and dispatch, while the port feeds will be sent to the port security office.
   The three year-contract with Boca Raton, Fla.-based ADT calls for 34 cameras to be mounted in high crime areas of the city for use by the RPD, and 82 cameras to be installed around the port. The cameras are expected to be up and running by April.
   The system is being paid for by the city, the North Richmond Waste and Recovery Mitigation Fund and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
   ADT, a division of Tyco International, is the largest U.S. security system provider.
