Samsung delivers 9,600-TEU ship to Seaspan ahead of time    Seaspan Corp., a non-operating vessel charter owner with its organizational head office in Vancouver, Canada, Thursday received a 9,600-TEU box ship built by Samsung Heavy Industries, roughly 11 weeks ahead of its contractual delivery date.
   The CSCL Zeebrugge will be operated by China Shipping Container Lines on its weekly Asia/Europe AEX1 service, according to ComPair Data, American Shipper’s affiliated database for global liner services, at https://www.compairdata.com.
   “We are pleased to take delivery of the CSCL Zeebrugge, the largest vessel in our fleet and one of the largest containerships in the world,” said Gerry Wang, Seaspan’s chief executive officer. “Once again, Samsung has exceeded our expectations by delivering the vessel well in advance of its contractual delivery date.”
   Seaspan has a fleet of 24 containerships chartered to some of the world’s largest liner companies, including A.P. Moller-Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, COSCO Container Lines, and China Shipping. Seaspan’s order book will see 17 more ships delivered over the next three years or so.
