K+N buys two pharma logistics companies

The third-party logistics provider will acquire Zet Farma in Turkey and Ferlito Pharma Logistics in Italy.    Third-party logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel will acquire Zet Farma in Turkey and Ferlito Pharma Logistics in Italy.
   In an effort to expand its Pharma and Healthcare Logistics platform, K+N said it will utilize the current scope of each company it is acquiring to maintain a niche in each regional market.
   Zet Pharma is a leading pharma logistics company in the metropolitan area of Istanbul, while Ferlito Pharma Logistics is known for its GxP compliant warehousing and forwarding services, including local distribution.
   “The pharma logistics market is expected to significantly grow due to global demographic changes and increased consumer spending,” K+N International AG management board member Gianfranco Sgro said. “It is one of the markets Kuehne + Nagel differentiates itself by operational excellence, global footprint and dedicated logistics infrastructure.”
   Both acquisitions are subject to customary closing conditions, and the Zet Farma transaction is subject to the approval by the relevant Turkish regulatory authorities.
