AIRBUS PICKS I2 FOR COLLABORATIVE VENDOR SYSTEM    Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, has contracted with i2 Technologies to use i2’s SRM and SCM solutions to manage Airbus’s interactions with its suppliers.
   i2 will create a Web-enabled hub facilitating all processes in Airbus’s extended supply chain, which includes vendors and contractors in 30 countries.
   The collaborative network will be completed in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom by the end of 2003, according to an i2 spokesman.
   “Taken together, i2 SRM and SCM applications provide a common foundation for controlling and reducing total costs,” as well as “reducing variability in the supply chain,” said Tim Minahan, vice president of supply chain research at Aberdeen Group.
