The fastest volume growth was in Hamburg, where Eurogate terminals box volumes increased 16 percent to 2.6 million TEUs. Throughput at Eurogate’s largest terminal in Bremerhaven increased 8 percent to 3.7 million TEUs. Box volume at its Italian container terminals arm Contship Italia Group, decreased 1.7 percent to 5.5 million TEUs.
Eurogate said it anticipates 9 percent volume growth in 2006.
