Inchcape Shipping Services opens Odessa office

The maritime services provider opened an office in Odessa, Ukraine as part of its plan to expand its presence across the Black Sea region.    Maritime services provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) opened an office in Odessa, Ukraine as part of its plan to expand its presence across the Black Sea region, alongside its existing Turkish offices situated in Istanbul, Izmir, Mersin and Izmit, the company said.
   The new office allows ISS to provide agency services for the Turkish Straits and Ukrainian ports from one location. In addition, the Odessa office adds value for customers through its strong logistics connections to other countries in the region, ISS said.
   The Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of grain, seed oil and semi-finished iron. In addition, the eastern European country is equipped with good railway links to transport cargo from its ports to Baltic countries, Russia and other Black Sea ports for roll-on/roll off services.
   With the region also attracting cruise traffic, the new office will provide a variety of marine and cargo activities including port agency and crew logistics services, vessel husbandry and freight forwarding.
   ISS provides landside commercial and humanitarian logistics; transit; offshore support; informational and other associated maritime services; and a variety of outsourcing services including global crew and marine spares logistics, port hub agency management and enterprise resource planning solutions through its Norway-based subsidiary ShipNet, which has offices in eight countries. Based out of the United Kingdom, ISS has 300 proprietary offices in 70 countries.
