USDA reestablishes ag trade advisory committees

USDA reestablishes ag trade advisory committees    The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative will re-establish the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) for Trade and the six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees (ATAC) for Trade.
   The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service has requested nominations of persons to serve on these seven committees for a term of four years.
   The six ATACs are:
   ' Animals and animal products.
   ' Fruits and vegetables.
   ' Grains, feed, oilseeds and planting seeds.
   ' Processed foods.
   ' Sweeteners and sweetener products.
   ' Tobacco, cotton and peanuts.
   The USDA and USTR said the committee sizes will be limited to about 35 members each. Members must be U.S. citizens and represent a U.S. entity with an interest in agricultural trade, and must not be registered with the Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Lobbyists are not eligible.
   Written nominations must be received by the Foreign Agricultural Service by no later than Dec. 17. For more details, access the Federal Register notice
