U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Marine Transportation, has been invited to give the keynote address. Cummings chaired a hearing earlier this year on the FMC where he said, “The evidence we have before us presents a picture of an agency that appears to be broken.”
Participants in a panel discussion will include:
' Harold Creel Jr., an FMC commissioner for the past 14 years and chairman from 1996-2002.
' Helen Delich Bentley, former Maryland congresswoman and chairwoman of the FMC from 1969-1975.
' Steve Blust, president of the International Institute of Container Lessors who chaired the agency from 2002-2006.

' Michael B. Berzon, chairman of the National Industrial Transportation League’s Ocean Transportation Committee and president of the consulting firm Marlog.
' Allen Clifford, executive vice president of Mediterranean Shipping Co. (USA).
' Jonathan E. Gold, vice president of supply chain and customs policy at the National Retail Federation.
' Mary Jo Muoio, president of the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America.
Joseph Bonney, editor of the Journal of Commerce, will moderate the discussion to be held at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, the day before the Baltimore Propeller Club’s Annual Crab Feast.
