LNG terminal in Long Beach criticized in environmental review forum    The first few days of a public review period for an environmental impact report on a proposed liquefied natural gas terminal in the Port of Long Beach have mirrored previous debate over the controversial project.
   Southern California newspapers reported that a public forum on the environmental document Monday in Long Beach drew intense arguments from environmentalists and residents opposed to the project, and staunch support from clean-fuel advocates and labor unions that have been promised jobs to build the terminal.
   The LNG facility would sit in the heart of the nation's second-busiest port, prompting opponents to call it a terrorist target, while supporters say the LNG import industry has one of the safest track records in terms of energy transport.
   The review period for the terminal, scheduled to come online in 2009, began Saturday.
