Paranaguß, Brazil auto moves spike upwards The Port of Paranagu', Brazil, reports that auto exports are up 71 percent to 67,095 units and auto imports up 113 percent to 24,670 units, according to statistics released by the American Association of Port Authorities.
   Several auto manufacturers use the port, which is south of Sao Paulo in the neighboring state of Parana. Most of the auto exports are headed for Germany, Argentina and Mexico, with Volkswagen, Renault and Nissan responsible for the most outbound moves. Inbound business is dominated by Volkswagen and Nissan, which import cars from Argentina and Mexico.
   The port has added 700 new parking spaces for its vehicle business. Clauber Candian, chief of operations, said the demand for the added space has been filled, and there is sufficient demand to warrant doubling the port's vehicle storage space.
