DHL DANZAS AIR & OCEAN EXPANDS U.S. LCL GATEWAY SERVICES    DHL Danzas Air & Ocean has expanded its less-than-containerload network throughout the United States.
   Danmar Lines, the company’s non-vessel-operating common carrier, recently separated the U.S. gateways in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Miami from their local ocean freight operations.
   These six gateways now deliver two-way LCL services linking 28 U.S. freight stations to more than 300 global destinations. Tara Caputo, director of ocean services for DHL Danzas in North America, will oversee the operation.
   DHL Danzas plans a similar expansion for LCL services in Canada later this year.
   “Global businesses want seamless and simplified logistics options, and our LCL program is designed to meet those needs,” said Philipp C. Rathgeb, vice president of ocean freight for DHL Danzas in North America.
   “The new LCL service provides good shipping times to the locations we need,” said Jayma Holcomb, international sales manager for the Water Products Division of A.O. Smith Corp., a manufacturer of water heaters.
   DHL Danzas plans to continue increasing its stake in the LCL ocean freight market. The company is already considered one of the largest global LCL service providers, handling about 1.4 million cubic meters of LCL cargo a year.
