SAFMARINE SWITCHES TO U.S./INDIAN SUBCONTINENT LINK    From the start of July, A.P. Moller subsidiary Safmarine will charter space from CMA CGM on its direct weekly U.S./Indian subcontinent Indamex service.
   The service will replace an existing slot-charter arrangement with the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia on its fortnightly service linking Canada, the U.S. East and Gulf coasts with ports in the Mediterranean, Dubai, Pakistan and India.
   The Indamex service uses eight ships of around 1,500-TEU capacity and calls at New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Port Said, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, New York, Norfolk and Charleston.
   The service is a joint operation that uses ships of CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines and Shipping Corporation of India.
