Glauber to represent U.S. agricultural trade at WTO

Glauber to represent U.S. agricultural trade at WTO U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns appointed Joseph W. Glauber to serve as special Doha agriculture envoy at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, effective May 31. He replaces Dick Crowder.
   Glauber has served as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s deputy chief economist since 1992. In addition to his work in the World Trade Organization’s Doha negotiations, he served as economic advisor at the so-called Blair House agreements leading to the completion of the Uruguay Round negotiations.
   Prior to his current position, Glauber served as senior staff economist for agriculture, natural resources and trade at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors as an economist at the USDA’s Economic Research Service.
