Yang Ming, APL add intra-Asia services

Yang Ming said the new service is to cope with the “relocation and adjustment of cargo flow and supply chains” amid “rising global trade tensions.”

   Yang Ming Marine Transport Company and APL have both announced intra-Asia services connecting China and Thailand that are scheduled to begin in July.
   Yang Ming said Monday it will contribute one of the three 1,200-TEU containerships on the China-Thailand Service (CTX Service), which has a first sailing scheduled for July 12 departing from Shanghai. The 21-day round trip service has a rotation of Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Laem Chabang – Bangkok – Laem Chabang – Hong Kong – Shanghai.
   The Taiwanese company said it added the service to cope with the “relocation and adjustment of cargo flow and supply chains” that are expected “under the impact of rising global trade tensions.”
   APL announced the launch of its weekly Bangkok Haiphong Service (RBH) that connects South China, Thailand and Vietnam. The service is set to begin sailing from Nansha on July 3 and will call at the ports of Nansha, Shekou, Bangkok, Laem Chabang and Haiphong.
   The RBH service will make an alternative sailing choice from Shekou to Laem Chabang and also will offer shippers direct connectivity from Bangkok and Laem Chabang to Haiphong, APL said.
