10-4 to integrate project44 LTL APIs

The shipment tracking technology provider will use APIs from project44 to get more real-time data around rating, transit time, and dispatch versus entrenched EDI message sets.

Boulder, Colo.-based transportation visibility startup 10-4 Systems has integrated less-than-truckload application programming interfaces (APIs) from project44 into its portal, the company said this week.
The integration allows 10-4 to provide real-time LTL shipment data within its current interface, which gives shippers access to in-transit inbound and outbound shipment data.
project44 is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider of APIs that provide two-way system-to-system communication on rates, transit times, inventory levels and other areas where data needs to be shared between shippers, carriers and logistics companies. From a transportation perspective, APIs are meant to replace to entrenched electronic data interchange (EDI) message sets because APIs offer more dynamic, real-time system communication.
“10-4’s mission from the start has been to leverage an easy-to-use interface to connect carriers, shippers, and brokers in real-time, with up-to-date, dynamic data,” said 10-4 CEO, Travis Rhyan. “project44’s network is the most comprehensive API platform in the industry, and will enable us to deliver unprecedented levels of end-to-end visibility and flexibility to our fast-growing customer base.”
Due to the nature of project44’s APIs, 10-4’s customers will get immediate and complete access to that entire network of carriers for rating, transit time, dispatch, tracking and image retrieval transactions, Rhyan said.
The integration of project44’s LTL API network into 10-4 Systems is set for late 2016.
