  1. These are large companies with many drivers. Are the owner operators also being squeezed out? Is the truck driving profession in general in demise?

    1. It depends on what goes on in the California supreme court decision. California is causing many of the unaffordable taxes. (Such as ELDs and 30 minute shutdowns.)

    2. California is causing all the problems. In that state companies have them as owners so they can pay them $5 a week to do the ports. But by outlawing that, the honest companies are getting screwed.

    1. The unions took out one of those companies. It was a class action settlement. The others went out from debt. Just too many expenses. A government tax of a million dollars for required ELDs didn’t help with the debts.

      1. The drivers were working with in a week so don’t make a big stink over it happens all the time

        1. They can work within a week. Or if they don’t want to drive in snow for the winter, they are paid the same to take 6 months off.

  2. The company that you think was taken down by the union lawsuit was LME. I don’t know that that was entirely what took them down. But, it took me a month to find a suitable job, but no where near the pay from LME. They were basically paying OTR rates for linehaul, but they weren’t charging OTR rates for freight. A bit of poor management either on purpose or just bad decisions.
And, LME, Inc., was not founded in 1921. It was founded in 2016.
Lakeville Motor Express may have been founded in 1921, but when they shut out the union back in 2016, they changed the name to LME.

  3. This is why all truckers, be they own authority, company driver, day cab, sleeper, etc., need to unite…to become one. This has nothing to do with unionization. We move America & it’s high time we called the shots. Certainly if we all sucked it up & shut it down, we could command the monetary value we richly deserve.

  4. I agree if drivers in this country stood up and said enough enough high fuel prices no parking no to shippers expecting us there yesterday but taking til yesterday to unload and if you cant speak English and respect our nations flag keep your happy ass out

  5. I wouldnt put to much into it the frieght is going strong the maga carriers are are pushing them out

  6. It’s all big boys getting rid of small companies for of the MONEY no more spot Market they what for them self. Up price make profits off there drivers. Keep fighting back don’t give up. Push and push only the warriors well make it.
