4 lines add Europe/South America service

   United Arab Shipping Co. said it will launch in March a new service between Europe and the East Coast of South America with Hanjin Shipping, COSCO and Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica (CCNI).

   UASC said its SAM1 service will deploy six vessels of 2,500 TEU capacity. UASC and Hanjin will each deploy two vessels, while COSCO and CCNI will each contribute one.

   The weekly service will offer a port rotation of Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Algeciras, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Itajai, Santos, Salvador, Algeciras and Rotterdam. A call at Paranagua is being planned for a later stage.

   The company said the calls at Algeciras will provide connections to and from the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Far East and Africa.
