A. Duie Pyle expanding warehousing footprint

The company is adding 200,000 square feet of warehousing space near the New Jersey/New York ports and 200,000 square feet in Maryland over the next 18 months.    Transportation and logistics provider A. Duie Pyle is ramping up its warehousing footprint as demand for space continues to increase.
All of A. Duie Pyle’s existing warehouse facilities, which are located across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, are high bay, greater than 100,000 square feet and built with the adaptability to handle constant changes in warehousing and distribution, A. Duie Pyle COO Frank Granieri told American Shipper.
   A. Duie Pyle is experiencing higher demand for temperature-controlled chemical storage, Granieri said, adding that the company also is engaged in e-commerce retail, which is driving demand for shared-space 3PL warehousing and distribution.
“A. Duie Pyle has the densest final-mile asset network in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions of the U.S.,” he said. “We are utilizing these assets to provide micro warehousing to supplement or replace traditional brick-and-mortar retail and fulfill shipper e-commerce distribution needs, which includes quick inventory turns with same-day, nighttime, early a.m. and next-day delivery to both commercial and residential customers.”
In the next 18 months, A. Duie Pyle is adding 200,000 square feet in close proximity to the New Jersey/New York ports and 200,000 square feet in Maryland along Interstate 81 to serve the mid-Atlantic region.
The Maryland location is near Class I railways CSX and Norfolk Southern. “Transportation capacity constraints are going to continue to require shippers to design integrated logistics solutions, which often may include intermodal,” Granieri said.
   A. Duie Pyle already is seeing interest in this space and also is in the process of searching for more site locations, he said.
The company also is adding to its existing footprint in Albany, N.Y., and is currently breaking ground on a final-mile transportation, warehousing and distribution facility in Portland, Maine, he said.
In addition to warehousing and distribution services, A. Duie Pyle provides various asset- and non-asset-based services, including less-than-truckload, custom dedicated fleet operations and brokerage solutions.
American Shipper provided in-depth coverage on how shippers and warehouse operators can better help supply chains deal with the warehousing shortage in its July magazine story, “Every foot counts in warehousing.”
