Aadnesen named Alaska Railroad’s CEO

Aadnesen named Alaska RailroadÆs CEO    The Alaska Railroad Corp. has appointed Christopher Aadnesen to president and chief executive officer, effective later this month.
   Aadnesen was CEO for three years with Estonian Railways, where he focused on profitability, safety performance, real estate assets, and increased freight and passenger service operations.
   He has also held senior positions with several other railroads, including the Union Pacific Railroad, Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana, The Texas Mexican Railway Co., and Houston's Port Terminal Railroad Association.
   Aadnesen will report to a seven-member ARRC board. In 2009, the Alaska Railroad earned $170 million in revenue and employed an average of 660 full-time employees.
