AAEI launches benchmarking survey

AAEI launches benchmarking survey    The American Association of Exporters and Importers this week released an online survey to gauge the state of the industry for importers, exporters and their service providers.
   The survey, available at AAEI's Web site, is open to all U.S. businesses engaged in international trade, including non-members of the association. All participants will receive a free copy of the results, one per company. The deadline to take the survey is May 15.
   It's the second year AAEI has conducted this comprehensive industry survey.
   'It's probably the best deal global traders and their service providers will get all spring and the data helps us present the trade community's views to policymakers at U.S. agencies and on Capitol Hill,' said Marianne Rowden, AAEI president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
   AAEI is also hosting its 89th annual conference, June 6-8, in New York. The conference, titled 'Forging the Path through Advocacy, Education and Trade Facilitation: AAEI Leading the Way for Global Trade and Economic Recovery,' will include 11 panels and two keynote speakers.
   The program covers a range of topics, including:
   ' The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
   ' Export controls and the president's agenda for reform.
   ' Globalization of security programs.
   ' Product safety.
   ' Valuation.
   ' Trade policy.
