ABN Amro veteran Kanter joins Seabury

ABN Amro veteran Kanter joins Seabury    Investment banker Seabury Group on Tuesday said David M. Kanter has joined the Seabury Maritime Investment Banking Group as a managing director.
   Kanter has more than 20 years of investment banking experience in debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring advisory with ABN AMRO Inc. and Lazard Fr'res & Co. LLC.
   He has worked extensively with companies in all areas of marine transportation, including tankers, bulk carriers, cruise lines and containers, and was most recently managing director, leveraged finance for RBS Global Banking & Markets after it acquired ABN AMRO.
   Seabury is a major restructuring advisor to the airline industry but also conducts business in the cargo and maritime sectors.
   Kanter will “be invaluable to companies in the shipping industry as they explore options for dealing with the current economic crisis,' said John E. Luth, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Seabury. We expect that David will also be instrumental in helping to promote our access to private equity capital.'
