ACE seminar scheduled in Arizona

ACE seminar scheduled in Arizona    U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold its second conference on the Automated Commercial Environment Oct. 31-Nov. 2, at the Westin La Paloma hotel in Tucson, Ariz. ACE is CBP’s new trade processing and communication system.
   The event is part of a series of educational forums CBP plans to hold to educate the trade community about ACE, its benefits and impact on business operations. The first session was held in Chicago in August and attracted more than 550 participants.
   The conference will be divided into three sessions for software developers, importers and brokers, and truck carriers, all of whom will be able to establish ACE accounts on site.
   ACE operates at all southern land border ports, along much of the northern border, and eventually will cover all land border ports. The system provides CBP with the ability to collect electronic manifests for trucks, as well as other modes.
