ACG orders 17 Boeing 737s

ACG orders 17 Boeing 737s Airliner lessor Aviation Capital Group has placed an order for 17 Boeing 737s in the firm's eighth purchase commitment from the Chicago-based aircraft manufacturer in two years.
   At current list prices, the deal announced Monday would be worth more than $1 billion, though sizable discounts are not uncommon on large orders. According to a Boeing statement, the order is for Boeing 737-800s with options to convert to 737-700s or 737- 900s.
   Boeing had previously attributed the order to an unidentified customer on the manufacturer's Web site.
   Including the new order, Newport Beach, Calif.-based Aviation Capital has ordered 81 Boeing aircraft, including 76 767s and five 787s. Aviation Capital's 129-aircraft portfolio comprises a mix of Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
