ACL LAUNCHES NORTH AMERICA/WEST AFRICA OR/OR SERVICE
Atlantic Container Line said Tuesday it has started a new roll-on/roll-off service from U.S. and Canadian ports to 11 West African ports.
The weekly, fixed-day service calls Baltimore on Thursdays, Portsmouth, Va. on Fridays, New York on Saturdays and Halifax on Mondays. Cargo will be relayed in Antwerp to the Grimaldi Line vessels, which call directly at Dakar, Freetown, Abidjan, Tema, Lome, Cotonou, Lagos, Douala, Luanda, Pointe Noire and Matadi.
ACL issues through bills of lading to all the West Africa ports for all types of non-containerized cargo, including breakbulk cargo, trucks, construction equipment and materials, drilling equipment and machinery.
