Activant purchases Canadian software firm
Retail and distribution software firm Activant Solutions Inc., said Tuesday it has acquired Canadian software firm Silk Systems Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not released.
Livermore-based Activant, with offices in nine states, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, specializes in providing business management services to small and medium-sized retail and wholesale distribution businesses in three primary vertical markets: hard lines and lumber; wholesale distribution; and the automotive parts aftermarket.
Silk Systems is a provider of software services, including integrated point of sale, inventory control, e-business, Web-based and financial management systems, for the home improvement, wholesale distribution and building materials markets in Canada.
