ADM to build sugar products shipping center in Lodi Agricultural products processing giant Archer Daniels Midland has announced plans to build a 15-acre sugar products rail-to-truck distribution center in Lodi.
   Plans call for the site to have a 10,500-square-foot building, plus storage silos as high as 55 feet. Future site development plans call for construction of 95,000- and 20,000-square-foot buildings.
   Lodi, located about 35 miles south of Sacramento, is a main hub for Central Valley agricultural products.
   Illinois-based ADM will use the Lodi site to store and blend sugars according to their customers’ needs, including major customer General Mills, who operates a mill about three miles from the ADM site.
   ADM began looking for a site to consolidate several Northern California facilities four years ago.
