Advance Container Lines, Hanjin to start Singapore/Thailand feeder

Hanjin Shipping has teamed up with Singapore regional shipping company Advance Container Lines to start at the end of this month a dedicated feeder service between Singapore and Thailand.

The Thailand Singapore Service (TSS) will use four ships with Advance providing three 350-TEU to 700-TEU vessels and Hanjin contributing one 650-TEU ship.

The port rotation of the TSS will be: Singapore, Bangkok, Laem Chabang and Singapore.

The service is scheduled to start March 26 from Singapore.

Hanjin said it handles annual container volume of 110,000 TEUs in Thailand, with 63,000 TEUs from the Singapore/Thailand trade. Following the start of the TSS, Hanjin, combined with its subsidiary Senator Lines, said it would control 85 percent of the feeder volume in this region.

Advance is owned by Pacific International Lines.
