Agistix IT counters trade data ‘blindspots’

Agistix, a Redwood City, Calif.-based transportation systems developer, launched a new application to provide visibility to “counter blindspots” in inbound, third-party and international shipment data that has historically not been captured by the software systems that shippers use to manage their supply chains and transportation operations.
The company said as supply chains continue to grow in complexity, shippers are finding it increasingly difficult to answer even the simplest questions about their shipments, such as “Where are my orders?” Traditional transportation management systems (TMS) provide only limited visibility into a shipper’s overall shipment volume, which can cost them millions of dollars in high freight costs, shipping lane inefficiency, slow response times to shipping disruption and undetected fraud.
Total Visibility is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application that aggregates and normalizes all of a company’s shipping activity, no matter who their suppliers and carriers are or how many TMS, ERP systems, freight pay or audit vendors they have, Agistix said.
If there’s a problem, Total Visibility generates automatic alerts, allowing shippers to take steps to keep their shipment moving forward, and to notify recipients of any delays so they can plan accordingly, Agistix said.
