AirBridgeCargo adds Milan/Moscow freighter

AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Volga-Dnepr Group’s scheduled cargo airline, said Thursday it is starting a new route between Milan and Moscow.

The service will be operated with a Boeing 747 freighter and will depart from Malpensa Airport for Moscow every Monday and Friday as an extension of the airline’s Amsterdam service. The service continues from Moscow to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, offering up to 112 tons of capacity.

ABC operates 31 flights a week to and from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports, linking Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Budapest and Zaragoza with Beijing, Shanghai, Narita and Hong Kong. The airline also operates scheduled all-cargo services to Krasnoyarsk in Russia.

“We will continue to expand our operations where ABC and its customers see opportunities to do so,' said Tatyana Arslanova, ABC’s executive senior vice president of strategy, marketing and sales. 'In Milan, we have succeeded in gaining a strong, regular commitment from the local freight forwarding industry.”

The service began June 29. ABC has appointed Kales GSA as its general sales agent in Italy and SEA to provide cargo handling at Aeroporti di Milano.
