AirBridgeCargo starts Moscow/Tokyo service

AirBridgeCargo Airlines, the cargo division of Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group, said Tuesday it will start Boeing 747F services from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Tokyo's Narita Airport on Sept. 7.

ABC launched services to Nagoya in early 2006 as part of a long-term relationship with Nippon Cargo Airlines, and now operates three flights a week to Nagoya. The launch of services to and from Tokyo follows successful negotiations between the Russian and Japanese aviation authorities.

ABC will initially operate one flight a week on the Moscow/Tokyo/Krasnoyarsk route, but the new aviation agreement also allows for further expansion of AirBridge operations to and from Narita from 2008 to 2010.

As part of the development of its business partnership with NCA, ABC will also provide its clients with additional cargo capacity on board NCA's existing twice-weekly flights from Tokyo to Frankfurt via the AirBridge hub in Krasnoyarsk in the Russian Far East.

AirBridgeCargo and NCA began cooperating in October 2005 when NCA was appointed as ABC's general sales agent in Japan.
