Airbus chairman indicates desire to manufacture in India The chairman of Airbus’ parent company EADS said last week the airplane manufacturers might start production in India soon to be “nearer its customer base there.”
   “If we want to sell in India, we have to produce in India,” said Louis Gallois at the Berlin Air Show, according to a report from India Aviation, an online news source. “There are lots of engineers in India.”
   The report said Boeing and Indian conglomerate Tata recently signed a deal to produce $500 million of defense-related aerospace components in India. Additionally, both Airbus and Boeing have received a gaggle of orders for civilian aircraft through 2018 as the aviation sector in India takes off.
