AirNet awarded 2 contracts from Federal Reserve

AirNet awarded 2 contracts from Federal Reserve AirNet Systems has received two contracts from the U.S. Federal Reserve System’s transportation group.
   Both contracts run from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2009, and are expected to generate about $3 million over the two-year period.
   The primary contract calls for AirNet to provide weekend transportation services for shipments moving between Federal Reserve check processing sites. The Columbus, Ohio-based air freight company said it will leverage its existing air and surface networks to support this contract.
   The second contract calls for AirNet to provide scheduled and expedited weekday service between Federal Reserve locations that continue to process a large volume of checks. While commercial airlines will be mainly used for this contract, AirNet said it will be able to improve the use of its daytime transportation network by consolidating Federal Reserve shipments with those that AirNet manages on behalf of other financial institutions.
