Havyard said it now controls 10.17 percent of the shares in Aker, which earlier this week parted company with Chief Executive Officer Yrj' Julin after the company posted a loss of 323 million krone ($59 million) in the fourth quarter.
Aker’s ordinary annual shareholders meeting is scheduled to take place on April 25. The company said it aims at announcing a date and time for an extraordinary shareholders meeting shortly.
