All damaged Yantian Express containers discharged

   All damaged containers in the fire-impacted areas of the Yantian Express have been discharged from the vessel, shipowner Hapag-Lloyd announced Monday.
   The German company said it is working on a solution to transship the damaged containers, which were discharged from cargo holds 1 and 2 and cannot be reloaded back onto the vessel, to customers. 
   The undamaged cargo will remain on the 7,510-TEU ship, which will depart from the shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas, once repairs are finalized. The final port of call for the Yantian Express has yet to be determined, Hapag-Lloyd said in the customer advisory.
   The Yantian Express was diverted to the Bahamas after suffering a container fire in early January when it was en route from Colombo, Sri Lanka to Halifax, Nova Scotia via the Suez Canal. All 23 crew members were evacuated the following day with no reported injuries.
