Aloha Cargo to hire 50 for new facility

   In preparation for its new, 115,000-square-foot cargo facility, Aloha Air Cargo is boosting its staff by as many as 50 employees.
   Construction of the facility, which will open at the Honolulu International Airport during the first quarter of next year, began in May. The new cargo area will consolidate Aloha’s existing cargo operations into one facility, making it easier for staff to coordinate state-wide shipping procedures.
   The new cargo area will feature 2,400 square feet of refrigerated space and five drive-up docks.
   “Our investment in this state-of-the-art facility represents Aloha’s ongoing commitment to the people and business of Hawaii that we are here for the long haul, supporting Hawaii commerce not just as a means for commercial transport, but as an integral link connecting every industry and person within the Hawaiian Islands and beyond,” Pat Rosa, Aloha Air Cargo’s chief operating officer, said at the groundbreaking ceremony for the facility.
