ALTA adds United, Mercator to roster    The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association said it has added United Airlines as an associate member and Mercator as an affiliate member.
   “As we continue expanding our associations with airlines around the world, organizations such as ALTA allow us the opportunity to work with other transport companies by ensuring mutual cooperation in industry issues, which in turn allows us to provide even better service to our clients,' said Josue Meza, United's sales director for Latin America, in a statement.
   Mercator, based in Dubai, provides information systems and services that support the global operations of the Emirates Group.
   ALTA is a private, non-profit organization, whose member airlines represent more than 90 percent of the region’s commercial air traffic.
