AmCham Shanghai, Alibaba agree partnership

   The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai) last month formed a partnership with China’s top e-commerce platform Alibaba.com to provide Alibaba’s registered users with access to market information and business resources from AmCham Shanghai.
   The goal of the partnership is to facilitate trade between the United States and China, as well as enhancing access to AmCham Shanghai’s information resources for small- and medium-sized businesses that rely on Alibaba’s platform.
   Under the terms of the agreement, Alibaba.com has created a special section on its website to provide access to resources from AmCham Shanghai, including exclusive market research, white papers and articles from the Chamber’s monthly business magazine Insight. Economic research reports, white papers and trade guides from AmCham Shanghai’s Virtual SME Center will also be made available directly to Alibaba.com’s global audience.
   In return, AmCham Shanghai’s members and qualified subscribers will receive priority access to Alibaba.com programs such as its Verified Member service, and Alibaba.com will leverage its extensive online SME database to help build awareness of AmCham Shanghai’s SME Center.
   “With this new cooperation we are combining and leveraging the strengths of the respective organizations,” AmCham Shanghai president Kenneth Jarrett. “Alibaba.com is a powerful engine that can help millions of people gain access to the information and tools available at AmCham Shanghai’s SME Center through this new web resource.”
