American Airlines credits Miami for gains AMR Corp., parent of American Airlines, said Wednesday a key part of its reversal from loss to profit during the first quarter was a gain in Miami domestic flights and the Latin America air services in Miami.
   AMR said international operations increased over the year-earlier quarter, with the strongest gains in the Latin American market, where revenues increased 10.3 percent.
   AMR reported earnings of $81 million for the quarter, with consolidated revenues of $5.43 billion, compared to a loss of $92 million and revenues of $5.34 billion last year.
   In addition to the gains related to the Miami operations, Fort Worth, Texas-based American said its planes were fuller and air fares were higher during the first quarter of 2007.
