American Eagle plans Miami/Savannah flights

American Eagle plans to initiate daily flights between Miami and Savannah beginning in September.

Although many global carriers offer direct service to South Florida ports, they typically have many other services — especially in the major east-west trade lanes — that call Savannah and use intermodal connections for customers throughout Florida. That is especially common for the Asia trades, but also holds true for a number of European services.

Direct two-hour flights will begin Dec. 13 between Miami and Savannah. American Eagle will fly a 64-seat ATR72 turbo-prop aircraft between the cities, with a daily 8 p.m. flight from Miami to Savannah and an 8 a.m. flight from Savannah to Miami.
