American Movers adds GPS tracking

   Texas-based American Movers Group, which focuses both on domestic and international moves, has announced it will use Track What Matters’ GPS asset tracking system to improve its records and help settle customer disputes.
   The GPS units on trucks will be used not only to ensure delivery but also track employee’s driving habits and overall efficiency. “Instead of always having to call the drivers, it’s so much easier just to use the GPS tracking to see where they are,” said Katie Myers, American Movers’ manager.
   The GPS services allow trucks and containers to be tracked both on Google Maps and within the Track What Matters cloud-based system. The company also provides a series of quick reports that show the route a shipment has taken, including the ability to flag certain areas along a route as geographical boundaries.
   “The reports help us prove that we did what we were supposed to do,” Myers said. “Sometimes clients will claim that they haven’t received delivery yet, but we can see from our reports that the truck was already there.”
