AMERIJET EXPANDS OPERATIONS IN ST. LUCIA

Amerijet International has opened a new 15,000 square-foot cargo facility at the Hewanorra airport of St. Lucia, in the Caribbean.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based all-cargo airline will start 727-200

freighter flights to Hewanorra on Friday.

Amerijet has provided scheduled freighter service to St. Lucia since 1992, with operations at the George Charles Airport in Castries. The company will retain its Castries office, but will no longer fly to the airport.

Amerijet will provide local ground service between its facilities to allow shippers access to cargo services at both airports.

St. Lucia’s free trade zone will also be included in Amerijet’s

operations to the island nation.

Amerijet will maintain its current flight schedule to St. Lucia, with two flights per week on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Hewanorra office will be staffed by St. Lucia Air Freighters, Amerijet’s local agent since 1992. Dylan Bourne will manage the sales and services of the new office.

Amerijet operates its own fleet of Boeing 727-200 freighters from its hub at Miami International Airport. The airline operates 210,000-square-foot cargo facility in Miami.
