Amerijet freighters reach southern Brazil

   Amerijet International, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on May 20 will start once-weekly direct all-cargo freighter service linking the United States and southern Caribbean to southern Brazil.
   The service ultimately arrives at Cabo Frio International Airport (CFB) in Brazil, and its agent Cargoworks operates a facility at the airport daily.
   “We believe the customer service advantages available from the CFB airport will be welcomed by our customers, and our Sunday arrival will allow for the earliest clearance of goods into the market each week,” said Pamela Rollins, Amerijet’s senior vice president of business development.
   Third-party logistics services provider Amerijet operates a fleet of Boeing 727-200 and 767-200 planes from its Miami hub, with 210,000-square-foot export and 100,000-square-foot imports air cargo handling facilities and a 50,000-square-foot ocean cargo facility. A custom-built 10,300 square-foot cooling facility was specially designed by Amerijet to support perishables during transport and handling.
