AMI expands in South Africa

The airfreight and express wholesaler has acquired the 500-square-meter warehouse adjacent to its current facility at Cape Town International Airport, effectively doubling the size of its facility and tripling its temperature-controlled storage capacity.

Airfreight and express wholesaler AMI is expanding its operations in Cape Town, South Africa, the company said in a statement.
AMI has acquired the 500-square-meter warehouse adjacent to its current facility at Cape Town International Airport, effectively doubling the size of its facility and tripling its temperature-controlled storage capacity.
The company said its newly-expanded facility will enable AMI to receive fresh produce including seafood, fruit, vegetables and flowers from South Africa’s Cape region, and store them at the proper temperature while awaiting flights.
“The expanded AMI Cape Town facility and our increased perishables capability will help us to keep pace with the significant growth in traffic from this region,” AMI Vice President, Africa Milton French said of the purchase.
