ANDREW CORP. EXPANDS RELATIONSHIP WITH SCHNEIDER LOGISTICS    Andrew Corp., a global supplier of communications systems equipment and services, has expanded its relationship with Schneider Logistics to include outsourced supply chain execution services across its North American network.
   Schneider Logistics, which has managed the processing and payment of Andrew Corp.'s freight bills for the past 11 years, has signed a three-year deal that utilizes its SUMIT supply chain management technology. Implementation of the SUMIT technology began in March at Andrew Corp.'s Orland Park, Ill. Headquarters, and at each of the company's 22 North American manufacturing and distribution facilities. The system is expected to be operational by September.
   Under the contract, the Green Bay, Wis.-based logistics company will manage more than 200,000 inbound and outbound shipments for Andrew Corp.'s U.S., Canadian and Mexican facilities.
   The SUMIT technology suite includes a Supply Chain Integrator application that will provide Andrew Corp. with part-level detail on all inbound and outbound shipments. Schneider said the application will enable Andrew to reduce inventory and carrying costs, as well as speed order fulfillment and improve customer service, while lowering operating expenses.
   Schneider will work with Andrew Corp. to optimize transportation rates, distance, capacity and transit by mode and carrier, as well as manage carrier contracting and negotiating, and claims management.
