Angola LNG Project awards long-term contract to carry LNG to U.S.    A consortium of Teekay Corp., Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and NYK Bulkship (Europe) Ltd., have received a letter of intent from the Angola LNG Project for a 20-year charter of four new 160,400-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas vessels to transport LNG mainly to the United States from 2011.
   The final award of the charter contract is still subject to certain conditions that are expected to be ironed out by the end of September, after which the group will order the ships.
   Angola LNG Project is a joint venture of Angola National Petroleum (Sonangol), BP and Total. It is the African country’s first national LNG production and sales project. It is estimated that from 2011, 5 million tons of LNG will be exported from Angola to the United States.
