Antillean Marine to sail from Port Everglades

Antillean Marine, a Caribbean trade carrier that has been operating from the Miami River for years, is about to begin service from Port Everglades.

Port Everglades Director Phillip C. Allen said Antillean has reached an agreement to begin using Port Everglades, with its first sailing set for today, to its primary market of Hispaniola, calling both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Antillean earlier this year also started serving Panama, calling at Manzanillo International Terminal on the Caribbean end of the Panama Canal.

Allen said the agreement with Antillean calls for annual projected volumes of 25,000 TEUs. Additional details on the new service will be released next week.
