Antwerp port appoints South America reps

The Antwerp Port Authority said Friday it has appointed three representatives in South America to promote the port and strengthen existing contracts.
The new representatives, Chile-based Fernando Bustamante and German Calderon, and Brazil-based Henrique Machado Rabelo, “will exploit his own niche, network and specialization, creating closer links with manufacturers (shippers) and the shipping world (shipping companies and ports).
The port authority said the representatives will emphasize the three sectors in which Antwerp is strongest — forest products, fruit and steel — as well as focusing on the latest developments in the biotech sector.
