Antwerp port invests $2.2 billion    The Antwerp Port Authority's board of directors Thursday approved plans to invest 1.6 billion euros ($2.2 billion) over the next 15 years.
   The funds will be used to develop the Verrebroek dock and Saeftinghe Development Area, construct a second lock on the left bank, dock renovations, modify the canal dock and Waasland Canal, and purchase a new suction dredging barge, tugboats and barges, dock-mounted and mobile cranes, and buildings.
   Additional expenditure is planned for purchase of land from General Motors, which is closing its Antwerp plant, and with a view to setting up an industrial project or logistics purposes.
   The port said directors decided to freeze the 2011 port dues at 2010 level.
