Antwerp port to build large wind farm    The Antwerp Port Authority and the Left Bank Corp. are seeking a partner to build a wind farm on the left bank of the Scheldt River.
   A recent study has shown there is room for up to 55 wind turbines in the Waasland port area on the left bank. This cluster would be the largest wind farm in Belgium on land, and the first turbine could be erected as early as 2012. However, the actual number of turbines will depend on how they can be reconciled with port activities and air traffic, the port authority said.
   The port authority and the Left Bank Corp. started promoting wind energy development of the Scheldt's left bank since 2008. The 'Wind Plan' was completed that year, defining the parameters for siting the turbines. The partner to help build the wind farm is expected to be chosen by summer 2011.
   A cluster of 50 turbines represents an annual output of around 400 gigawatt hours, or enough to supply 100,000 to 120,000 Belgian households.
